Oklahoma teen gets stuck under truck while sledding

A teen is safe after getting stuck underneath a truck Thursday evening in Oklahoma City.Shortly after 6:15 p.m., firefighters responded to a sledding accident in the 9000 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, where they found a teenage boy under a pickup truck’s back axle. Fire department officials said the teenager was having difficulty breathing.Authorities said teenagers were sledding down a hill when one of them got stuck under the truck.Fire department officials said the truck kept slipping during the rescue, making it difficult for crews to free the teen.”When we first started the lift, the truck was sliding on the ice,” said Maj. T.J. Aragon, with the Oklahoma City Fire Department. “So, we had to call more equipment out to help us stabilize the vehicle. The patient was stable, and we wanted to keep it that way. We were able to get him out from under the truck and into the ambulance without causing injury.”Authorities took the teenager to a hospital for further evaluation.
